What it's like to daily drive a 2 year old car with A/C, radio, and airbags

So about two years ago I decide to purchase my 2013 Chevrolet Sonic RS. Why you may ask? Because I wanted a manual turbo hatchback, and it impressed me on a test drive. Plus Gamma II. So there is that.

The radio works really well, the A/C works really well, the seat heaters are fantastic. As soon as I bought it I knew it was great. Plenty of power, great handling. There was nothing wrong with the car before I put money into it. But then I decided I wanted more power, so I tuned it. And it didn’t handle as well as it could, so I got a sway bar. And I got sticky tires. Now it handles extremely well, and has giggle inducing amounts of boost!

So why do I keep it? Because it works, and I owe too much money on it. But really it’s nice having a car with a warranty because if it does act up I can just take it to the dealer and get a loaner, which I did recently when the front brake master cylinder failed. I just get in and drive, and not worry about it having any problems.

For a moment I thought this was some type of snorkel. Whoops.

Anyway, nice RS. Looks like a ton of fun at the autocross. Hope it brings you more years of joy.

I'm considering trading it in for another car in the spring

I imagine it drives fairly similar to my 2 year old car with A/C, radio and airbags as well. At least before you tuned it.

Well if you managed to find a C6 within your budget, then I would say to go for that.

Not bad. It would need some good mods though.

Yes and no. It’s a fantastic car to drive as is. I’m leaning that way because they are cheap, so it’s a path towards the future ‘vette

How has it been in terms of reliability? This is a car I could be considering in a couple of years.

Only real issue I’ve had was the master cylinder, and the dealer had never seen that happen so it must be rare
